Building a new home or renovating an existing one to be adaptive for accessibility needs can be a challenge. But with forethought in the planning and design process, the goals and needs of a client can be met and still provide beautiful living space. Some of the features to consider are: an elevator to all floors; open floor plans with wide pathways; adaptive bathroom features such as grab bars, curbless roll-in showers, tubs with opening doors; kitchen cabinets and appliances designed to be lowered for access. And for the outside, consideration is needed to design the entrances with no steps and grades that have limited incline. At Sandy Spring Builders, we work hard to meet ALL of our client’s needs and desires, and give them a functional and fabulous home!
