Halloween is the time for costumes, trick-or-treating, candy and, of course, spooky-fun. Whether or not you participate in dressing up, or handing out candy, or both, here are a few Halloween tips for homeowners.

  • If you’re trick-or-treating, remind kids to walk, not run, between houses and to stick to well lit driveways and sidewalks.
  • If you’re handing out candy, be sure there is ample lighting for trick-or-treaters and double check the pathways and sidewalks of your home for any tripping hazards.
  • Keep your pets safe. Keep all candy out of pet’s’ reach and keep dogs safely confined until you’re certain how they will react to tiny strangers on the doorway in costumes.
