It’s that time of year again, as we drive around town and admire beautifully lit and decorated homes, with trees sparkling through the windows and welcoming wreaths on front doors. Our favorite part is seeing our clients’ elegant custom homes sparkling with their own unique touch of holiday cheer. Whether you’re hosting a holiday gathering or cozying up on a snow day with family, adding a splash of festive decorations in your home can create a warm and vibrant atmosphere for everyone.

Below are a few tips to impress your guests, neighbors, and passersby with tasteful and festive holiday decor inside and outside your home.

Think small.
Rather than thinking about the big overall impact, consider sprinkling a bit of holiday cheer around the different rooms in your home.

Choose gift wrapping that complements the room’s color scheme.
You can even carry this technique through your ornaments and tree decoration to create a cohesive whole.

Spice up your dining table.
A trendy holiday table cloth paired with complementary place settings and tall candlesticks will make your dining room look elegant. Red and green plaids are on trend and pair nicely with a touch of gold or silver.

Think natural – accessorize with greenery.
Greenery such as pine, cedar, eucalyptus, balsam, juniper, and boxwood draped across mantels, bathroom vanities, bar carts, etc. will bring life to any room. You can even try pairing festive ribbons to bring out colors in the room.

Decorate with sweets.
Fill glass containers with red and green peppermints. Candy jars placed on tables throughout a home are a classic and thoughtful touch that your guests won’t be able to resist.

‘Tis the season for festive linens.
Especially in your guest rooms. It brings a trendy and inviting vibe for any visitor to your home. Decorative pillows and pillow covers or a throw for the foot of the bed will add a nice touch.
