This custom modern home was a truly one-of-a-kind build, and an incredible team effort between the builder, architect, interior designer, and landscape architect. The home took advantage of the unique shape of the lot, and the client’s desire to have a home built with concrete, stone, glass and steel on the inside that could still be warm and inviting and family-friendly. The result is a spectacular home with neutral tones throughout that innovatively mixes materials so that each room is distinctive. Some of the most exciting features of the home are the backyard pool/spa/fireplace entertaining area; the foyer stairway made of concrete treads, glass rails, and stone focus wall; the music room with padded walls for sound-dampening; and the fun lower level golf simulator room with viewing area. Kudos to all involved – our great clients, Studio Z Architects, Marlene Dennis Interior Design, and Rolling Acres Landscaping.

The East Bethesda neighborhood is bordered by Wisconsin Avenue, East West Highway, Jones Bridge Road, and the Columbia Country Club. It was founded in the 1930’s and comprises roughly 1,200 homes. It’s biggest selling feature is its close proximity to downtown Bethesda – walkability is also easy for the Woodmont Triangle and new retail and developments there. They have easy access to the Capital Crescent Trail and Metro stations at Bethesda and Medical Center, which gives easy access to DC. The neighborhood has its own association which sponsors Labor Day and Halloween parades, among other informal gatherings.
