This warm and inviting shingle style home was designed to meet our client’s needs and lifestyle. An empty nester couple with two adored dogs, they wanted to have a fairly traditional home that fit into the neighborhood on a larger lot. The collaboration between the owner, Sandy Spring Builders, and Studio Z Design Concepts was a process that resulted in a spectacular home with wonderful features including a breathtaking stair tower, open and spacious kitchen and breakfast room, beautiful millwork throughout, and a resort-like backyard. The design throughout the home has an echo of Old World charm with modern amenities. The rooms are formal, but at the same time they are comfortable and inviting.
The inspiration for the stunning pool, spa, and rear of the home was taken from our client’s visits to the islands of Turks & Caicos. They wanted to bring that feeling to their home, and we all worked hard to achieve that goal. The reverse infinity edge pool that flows into the hot tub is beautiful to see from the rear of the home. And at night, the lighting is spectacular! The owners enjoy sitting on their rear porch and enjoying their magnificently landscaped backyard oasis.
Featured Neighborhood: Bradley Hills Grove, Bethesda Maryland
Heading west on Bradley Boulevard past the Fernwood Road intersection is an area known as Bradley Hills Grove. The lots are spacious, mostly between ½ and 2 acres in size, and they are surrounded by mature trees. Building began in this area in the 1930’s and still continues with new homes being built. Bradley Hills Grove is one of the more popular Bethesda neighborhoods with the sought-after public schools of Burning Tree Elementary, Pyle Middle, and Whitman High School. The newest project in Bradley Hills Grove from Sandy Spring Builders will be a build-to-suit custom home at 6800 Bradgrove Circle.
