If you’ve experienced Autumn in the Washington, DC Metro area, you know just how beautiful the season is! Montgomery County, MD in particular offers spectacular fall foliage as the leaves change from green to an array of red, orange, and yellow. If you are in the Bethesda area, grab your sweater and your mask, and venture out to the local farmers markets! Support our local businesses while bringing home fresh harvest to the dinner table.
Every Sunday from 9am-1:30pm, Bethesda Central Farm Market takes over the lot of Bethesda Elementary School in the bustling downtown Bethesda.
Sandy Spring Builders has supported the Central Farm Markets since they were founded in 2008 by Debra Moser and Mitch Berliner. Bethesda Central Farm Market was the first market, which began in a small parking lot with 17 vendors – they are now bustling and at three farm markets in Maryland and Virginia. With the plight of farmers during the pandemic, it is important that we support their mission to support agricultural innovation, green practices, and sustainability with our local farmers. And Berliner recently said in his blog, “It took a novel virus for humanity to recognize how tenuous our food system has become.” Each market supports its local community with not just providing fresh locally sourced food and products, but with activities, events and programming that help to educate, give back and fight hunger. We are very proud to sponsor the music provided at the markets for the enjoyment of our community.
